Maximizing Efficiency: How AI Assistants can help with everyday tasks

What is an AI Assistant? When I say AI Assistant I’m talking about the large language models that we hear about in headlines these days…your Chat GPTs, Claude, Gemini’s to name just a few.

There are uses for these systems in myriad ways, and in today's little newsletter I’ll walk you through a few personal favorites.

Spreadsheets: I’m admittedly not great at creating sophisticated spreadsheets. Gemini is a great tool here for creating beautiful sheets in the google suite. Describe what you are trying to do/track/measure/ etc and the system will create for you. I recently used this to create a Project Tracking document for my consulting business. The system created a color coded sheet with all of the data I wanted to track, plus some additional data points that I hadn't thought of.

Creative Writing: I’m a mom of two small kiddos who love to be told bedtime stories. I’ve used Claude to help me craft bedtime tales for my kiddos based on their current interests. I usually ask Claude to work in some messages for me, such as the importance of cleaning up your toys before bed or why brushing your teeth is essential. I’ll also ask for a specific tone- sometimes its a rhyming tone a la “goodnight goodnight construction site” to help lull them to sleep. There are tons of possibilities here. The key for me has been including as much detail as I can to really get something awesome. Another great idea? Ask your AI to help craft a unique birthday poem for a friend!

Collaborative Partner: By far my most used feature in AI has been to use it as a collaborating partner. For example: My AI helped proof read this newsletter. I will often pass my work through one of my various AI’s before publishing, for a second opinion, suggestions and edits.

These tools are fantastic in so many aspects of work and life. How are you using AI in your life? If you aren’t yet…are you convinced? Need more? Send me a note! I love to hear from readers and suggest other GPT’s that I’m currently loving!

Wishing you a fantastic week of Joy and Discovery,

Michelle
